Husk filled products will last a long time if they are looked after. An important point is that the husk shouldn’t get damp or wet, because it will be difficult to dry it fully. If you’re prone to dust allergies, we would recommend changing the husk filling annually to ensure you enjoy your husk product at its best. This would also be an opportunity to try other husks like millet.
Hardness of the product can be easily adjusted by pouring some of the husk filling out. Keep the excess for a top up in the future.
So how to wash your husk product? Let’s use pillow as an example. First, empty te pillow by pouring all the husk into a clean container. Optionally, you may rejuvenate the husk by leaving it to air in a sunny spot. Wash the pillow on a standard cotton cycle. If you have a linen cover, make sure the temperature is not higher than 30 degrees Celsius.
